Anti Ageing at Aayna Clinic

Celebrities and models the world over are opting for sessions of Exilis every couple of months to tighten and tone stubborn areas. Used as more than just a body sculpting technique, the Exilis Elite is making waves in the anti ageing world as a great way to boost collagen production that makes your skin look plumper and younger. It can be used to target lower belly fat as well as to help you reduce the appearance of under eye bags and alleviate some of the discolouration. The machine is extremely versatile and can be used to treat various conditions and symptoms so you see results in just a few sessions.

The Aayna Clinic is a state of the art medical facility that allows guests to come in for a consult and opt for a non invasive procedure that will help fix these woes without any risk or side effects.

I have to admit that I was very apprehensive when I first read about this treatment. I walked into the clinic and met the team of doctors at Aayna Clinic that screen patients, consult with them, answer their questions before proceeding for the treatment. I was relieved after a 45 minute consultation with the doctor where they walked me through the process, discussed the benefits and allayed all my fears by answering my questions.

The two most commonly used treatments at clinics like Aayna are Exilis and Thermage. I am going to touch on the differences between both treatments below.

The Exilis Elite system consists of one hand piece, which uses monopolar radio frequency and ultrasonic energy. Radio frequencies consist of oscillating electrical currents, increasing the vibrations of molecules and ions, thus releasing heat, which works on the water contained in the target area. For this reason, the treatment is applicable to all skin types and help

The ultrasonic energy provides heat to the skin, and works on fat clusters by agitating and separating them. Breaking up the fat clusters facilitates the delivery of the monopolar radio frequency to the fatty (adipose) tissue, at the cellular level. The therapist will apply the hand piece over saggy and loose areas of the body typically flank, thigh, underarm and love handles. These areas are targeted with a continuous pulse of energy until the optimum temperature (45 degrees Celsius) for fat burning is achieved, and this temperature is maintained for about 6-8 minutes. The temperature emanating from the hand piece is automatically regulated by Energy Flow Control, thus making this procedure pain-free, and one that requires no downtime. Results are best seen after 5-6 sessions, and you can resume your normal activities immediately after.

Exilis helps to shrink loose tissue and skin, and boosts the production of collagen and elastin in the long term, which help skin regain suppleness and elasticity. The treatment is most effective on the forehead, eyebrows, under-eye area, crow’s feet, the décolletage, and abdominal regions.

The Thermage treatment, while also a body-sculpting treatment, functions in a slightly different manner. Here, the monopolar radio frequency is delivered in short cycles of 1-2 seconds where a small part of the targeted area is stamped with the handpiece. In this way, the hand piece is moved all around the targeted area. Thermage treatment can take anywhere between 1-3 hours. This treatment is also temperature controlled, and the application of a cooling spray periodically prevents the skin from burning. The temperature here is also maintained at the optimum 45 degrees Celsius.

While both Exilis Elite and Thermage utilize monopolar energy flow, Exilis combines this with ultrasonic energy. Thermage is different in that it consists of short bursts of energy delivered to small areas of the body; a process which requires a considerably longer time. Both treatments are used to tighten skin, and natural results can be seen after just one session. Additionally, in the long term, both treatments have been shown to improve deep wrinkles, as well as boost collagen production.

Verdict- Out of the two treatments, I highly recommend Exilis Elite to target small, stubborn areas or even your under eye area if you’ve been sitting in front of a screen for the too long. The treatment is non invasive, perfectly safe and requires absolutely no downtime. It is virtually painless and extremely effective at targeting trouble spots. The results from Exilis Elite are permanent as long as you look after your diet and engage in some form of physical activity on a regular basis. Dr Gargi will give you a post treatment plan followed by counselling to help you determine how to get long lasting results. Please remember to stay hydrated during and post the treatments. Typically, each person needs about 2-4 sessions spaced about 15 days apart to see visible improvements in skin texture and skin tightening. Also, these treatments require absolutely no downtime so you can even swing by during lunch break to have Exilis performed on you with no fears of scars or bruising. Lastly, Exilis, albeit slightly pricey is extremely effective. You might want to speak to the clinic to work out a good package for you.
